Job Description: Assistant Group Supervisor
Location: Premier Learning Center, Pennsylvania
Job Type: Full-Time Or Part-Time
Job Summary:
The Assistant Group Supervisor supports the Group Supervisor in implementing daily activities and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role includes supervising aides and children, assisting with lesson plans, and maintaining compliance with Pennsylvania childcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the Group Supervisor.
- Coordinate daily activities and supervise aides in the absence of the Group Supervisor.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care.
- Communicate effectively with children using age-appropriate methods.
- Support children’s development through structured play, reading, and educational activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Follow all state and center-specific policies and procedures.
Qualifications (Per 55 Pa. Code § 3270.36):
- High school diploma or GED and 30 credit hours from an accredited college/university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services.
- High school diploma or GED and 600+ hours of secondary training in child development.
- High school diploma or GED and 15 credit hours in relevant fields, plus 1 year of experience with children.
- High school diploma or GED and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum in child development.
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience with children.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles.
